WatThai

Wat Thai is an original casualwear design collection for the Fall-Winter 2025 season, inspired by Thai Wat temples and the trend of reinvented classics. This project seeks to reinterpret the traditional elements of officewear, blending them with a contemporary vision that maintains the core values of comfort and elegance, while introducing a fresh, modern aesthetic. The architecture of Thai temples serves as a central source of inspiration, influencing the color palette, fabric selection, and garment designs. Additionally, the collection will explore custom prints that echo the distinctive shapes and vibrant colors of these temples, achieving a seamless fusion of tradition and modernity in every piece.

Concept

This collection draws from the rich symbolism and architecture of Wat temples, merging Buddhist architectural elements with the functionality and sophistication of modern officewear, adapted to the urban lifestyle of Bogotá. Design details will highlight *repetition modules, layered silhouettes, and illustrated prints that capture the spiritual iconography of the temples. Golden accents—reminiscent of temple ornamentation-will be used throughout, evoking their opulence and refined aesthetic. The result is a fusion of comfort and elegance that reimagines the classics, offering a perfect balance for a unique, contemporary form of personal expression.

Key Elements

Key elements

Structure & Rigidity

The firm, solid structures of Wat temples inspired the use of rigid textiles that reflect their architectural strength.

Repetition Modules

The architectural repetition found in temple infrastructure is directly translated into layered garment designs that play with rhythm and balance.

Ornamentation

The ornamental details of Thai temples are often characterized by golden elements symbolizing wealth and splendor. These accents will appear in the collection through gold tones and elements such as statement buttons and trims.

Symbolism

Wats are known for their elephant statues, historically regarded as symbols of royalty and nobility. The collection will feature prints inspired by this cultural emblem of Thai heritage.
